Q1: How does WreckingBalm® System fade tattoos so effectively?

Doc Sez:  Wrecking Balm® uses a proprietary formulation of removal methods to gradually fade away the appearance of tattoos.  It uses three technologies, so gentle, but powerful enough to fade your tattoo, in the privacy of your own home, without an appointment and without a prescription. What makes this system unique is the combination of an FDA approved medical dermal device, chemical peels and solvent serums that penetrate into the skin to help break up the cellular matrix, where injected ink pigments are imbedded. This process supports the skins natural ability to regenerate, pushing the ink pigments to the surface of the epidermis for exfoliation over a shorter time compared to laser. See warnings.

Q2:  How long will WreckingBalm® System take to fade my tattoo?

Doc Sez:  Wrecking Balm® is devastatingly faster than any in-home tattoo removal system. There are many factors that affect how your tattoo will fade including depth, density of the skin and the surface size of tattoo.  When used as directed it could take as little as two months, if it is an amateur tattoo or longer depending on many different factors.   Faithfully using Wrecking Balm® is your key to faster fading.  Remember: tattoos are meant to be permanent markings deep in the epidermis and sometimes dermis layer of the skin, using ink pigments made of chemicals, metals, plastics, cotton, India ink, pen ink, and/or vegetable matter.  They are lodged in your skin tissue so they can hold a rich color and appearance.  After many weeks of consistently using Wrecking Balm® Your body’s own activation of surface cell renewal becomes more efficient and regenerating skin will shorten thus speeding up the appearance of fading.

Q3:  Why do some colors take longer to fade than others?

Doc Sez:  Reds and mixed yellows (mercury, cadmium) appear to fade quicker than greens (chromium) and blues (cobalt) because of their concentration and metal/plastic chemical pigment base.  Their contrast to your skin’s color will also affect the appearance of the tattoo’s ability to fade.

Q4:  Will WreckingBalm® System irritate my skin?

Doc Sez:  Wrecking Balm® System is designed to be a powerful tattoo fade solution, without the pain and inconvenience of other tattoo removal methods. When used as directed, Wrecking Balm® System is so gentle it has been approved for in-home use. However, depending on the area of your body being treated you may experience a mild burning or irritation. Please visit the WARNINGS section of this web site before use and read the warnings on labels before use. If you have any concerns about skin irritation, you should consult your physician or dermatologist before using the Wrecking Balm® System. It is recommended to shave area prior to use to minimize any irritation.

Q5:  Will WreckingBalm® System work on all skin tones?

Doc Sez:  Yes. Wrecking Balm® System is designed to work on all skin types. However, please keep in mind that when lightening a tattoo, the area may appear lighter than your normal skin tone until new skin is able to regenerate.

Q6:  Can I use WreckingBalm® System on a new, fresh tattoo?

Doc Sez:  No! Wrecking Balm® System is recommended for use on tattoos that are a minimum of 6 months old.

Q7:  Can I redo my tattoo after using WreckingBalm®?

Doc Sez:  Yes. Once WreckingBalm fades the tattoo to your, or your artist’s satisfaction, allow time for the skin to heal and then you can tattoo over the same area.

Q8:  How much of my tattoo can I use WreckingBalm® System on?

Doc Sez:  Wrecking Balm® System is designed to treat a tattoo covering 1% of your body, which is about the size of your palm. It is not recommended for fading tattoo’s covering facial or genital areas of the body.
See warnings before use.

Q9:  Are there clinical studies on the use of WreckingBalm® System?

Doc Sez:  We have invested many years with independent labs to properly formulate the Wrecking Balm® System to meet the standards of Doc Wilson’s efficacy and safety team. The ongoing research and testing results of the Wrecking Balm System are proprietary and cannot be released at this time. We are conducting additional testing that may be available to the public sometime in the next several months. Unfortunately, this is part of the agreement Doc Wilson’s Wrecking Balm® System has with his scientists and labs. Additionally, every now and then we come across proprietary ink pigments that are new and homemade by certain tattoo parlors and we are constantly updating our formulation to fade these new ink pigments.

Q10:  Is it approved by the FDA?

Doc Sez:  Step one of the Wrecking Balm® System, uses an FDA approved medical device that has been submitted for “over-the-counter human use” to comply with federal regulations as a “tattoo removal agent.” It is designed for use over limited areas of the body for tattoo removal with compliant directions meeting safety and efficacy for human use.

Q11:  What is the Branding Butter™?

Doc Sez:  We have included a high quality, color-matching concealer to instantly remove the appearance of any unwanted tattoo for that special occasion if you need to cover your tattoo while it fades. It's easy to apply, water-resistant, smudge-proof and stain-proof. What distinguishes the Branding Butter from expensive department store brands is the highly concentrated compounds that conceal dark to bright tattoos so well.

Q12:  My tattoo looks like it is getting brighter. Why?

Doc Sez:  In some cases a tattoo may appear to get brighter before it starts to fade. Wrecking Balm® is designed to remove the upper layers of your skin above your tattoo pigments. The more skin you are removing above your tattoo the brighter your tattoo may appear. In fact your tattoo is getting closer to the skin’s surface with every application. Depending on your skin’s density in the tattooed area some tattoos may appear brighter sooner than others. For example, a tattoo on the back of the hand may not appear to be getting brighter while a tattoo on the arm may appear to get brighter because it is removing more skin layers in the epidermis.

Q13:  What areas of the body take the longest to fade away a tattoo?

Doc Sez:  The bottom or palms of hands and feet take the longest to fade because they have an extra layer of skin. The epidermis is especially thick and may take longer for the abrading and exfoliation process.

Q14:  If I stop using WreckingBalm® does that mean I have to start all over?

Doc Sez:  It is OK to stop for a short period of time and resume using Wrecking Balm®. For example some users have stopped after 24 or 48 applications and resumed after a few weeks. They picked up where they left off. However, if you want to fade away your tattoo in the shortest amount of time. Committing to using Wrecking Balm as directed without pause will produce the fastest results.

Q15:  Is it safe to have a new tattoo put over the WreckingBalm® treated area?

Doc Sez: Our system is designed to gradually fade/remove your tattoo over time. Once the tattoo has been faded or fully removed to your satisfaction you can tattoo over the area once it is completely healed.
